About us

We power the third-party reproduction industry through Orchid Journey Management Software (JMS) — a secure, all-in-one SaaS platform that streamlines every phase of the surrogacy and egg-donation journey, from first contact to birth and beyond. Orchid JMS combines guided workflows, deep CRM, case management, and critical integrations with agency websites, communication systems, and SeedTrust Escrow accounts. Our mission is simple and human: help build more families.

The opportunity

We're hiring a business-minded Chief Technology Officer to lead our technology strategy and product evolution from growth stage into market maturity. This is not a standard SaaS company — we operate at the high-stakes intersection of HealthTech, FinTech, and LegalTech.

You'll inherit a talented team of ~30 (Tech Leads, Product Managers, Designers, and engineers, distributed across LATAM and the US) and own a defining initiative: merging the independent product lines and infrastructures of four related companies — into one unified, elegant, secure ecosystem. This is a role for a High-Complexity Generalist who thrives on technical orchestration, creative problem-solving, and empathetic team building.

What you'll do

  • Be a strategic business partner (not a "yes-person"). Sit as a peer and trusted advisor to the C-Level. Master the business model and regulatory boundaries of every product line, and bring business-driven questions, rigorous data, and structured options to the executive table.
  • Mentor and empower Tech leads. Lead with high EQ, transparency, and stability, protecting and evolving a culture of continuity and psychological safety. Treat each Tech Lead as an autonomous owner of their domain while aligning them under one architectural vision, and champion the structure (e.g., dedicated Product Owners) the team needs.
  • Modernize legacy code and unify disparate applications. Audit and deeply understand the infrastructures across our legacy applications. Refactor, upgrade, and stabilize them — resolving accumulated technical debt without halting product velocity — and orchestrate the integration of internal platforms, external APIs, and banking escrow systems into a cohesive, secure, bulletproof infrastructure.
  • Drive practical product magic through strategic AI. Move beyond AI-for-internal-efficiency toward customer-facing AI that creates real value (predictive matching, automated document drafting, smarter workflow usability) — with the judgment to know when AI is, and isn't, the right tool.

What you'll bring (must-have)

  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership, with a proven track record of scaling B2B SaaS products from early development to maturity.
  • M&A / multi-platform integration experience: merging independent product lines, disparate codebases, and disconnected teams into one engineering unit.
  • Legacy-code mastery: modernizing legacy architectures and systematically dismantling technical debt.
  • Product-minded engineering edge: connects engineering deeply to product design and the human "user journey" — understands data schemas and UX alike.
  • High emotional intelligence: navigating transitions, mediating across technical egos, building trust-based cultures.
  • Cloud architecture expertise: hands-on with secure cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), data management, and PII/HIPAA-compliant environments.
  • Excellent communication — able to translate complex engineering into clear business outcomes for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional-level English (written and spoken) and ability to work core US Eastern Time hours.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience in HealthTech, FinTech, LegalTech, or highly regulated operational marketplaces.
  • Experience inside a US-based startup or growth-stage SaaS company while managing distributed remote teams in Latin America.
  • Background in contract lifecycle management (CLM) or multi-party transaction platforms.
  • Familiarity with internationalization/localization of software platforms.

Compensation & logistics

  • Competitive compensation, paid in USD, as an independent contractor — shared early in the process.
  • Flexible/unlimited PTO
  • Performance bonus and long-term incentive structure are being finalized and will be discussed during the process.
  • Remote-first; occasional international travel for team gatherings and key meetings.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 05/31/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
