About the Company

Orchid Software Solutions is hiring experienced independent contractors to join our fully remote development team. We build tailored software that improves efficiency, transparency, and outcomes in the assisted reproduction technology industry.  Our mission is to build sophisticated tools for a highly sensitive and impactful field.

The Role

As a Senior Engineer, you will be a technical pillar for your team. You will remain deeply hands-on in the codebase, taking ownership of feature delivery and contributing to architectural decisions. This is a role for a highly autonomous developer who enjoys mentoring peers and partnering with Product and Design to turn vision into production-ready reality.

You will help us build reliable and elegant solutions, ranging from dynamic front-end views in Next.js to contributing to our backend migration toward Go (Golang) and implementing AI-based features that integrate with our internal data.

Responsibilities

  • Execute & Deliver: Drive the development of a production-grade Next.js application (App Router, Server Components) with high-quality code.
  • Technical Ownership: Maintain front-end standards and actively participate in the strategic transition of backend services to Go.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Product and Design on scope and feasibility, ensuring we build the right things the right way.
  • Mentorship: Guide other engineers through constructive code reviews and technical knowledge sharing.
  • Data Stewardship: Maintain high standards of security and privacy, given the sensitive nature of the health-tech data we handle.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience building and scaling production web applications.
  • Next.js & TypeScript Mastery: Deep understanding of modern React patterns and Next.js optimization.
  • Backend Flexibility: Proficiency in SQL and a strong interest (or experience) in Go (Golang) to support our backend evolution.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to take a complex requirement and break it down into a solid technical implementation.
  • Product Sense: You care about the user experience and the "why" behind the features you build.
  • English Proficiency: Fluency in business English (C1) is required for seamless collaboration with the US team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Go (Golang) or Python/Node.js.
  • Experience in HealthTech or handling sensitive data (HIPAA/GDPR).
  • Experience integrating AI/LLM features.
  • Familiarity with AWS and modern CI/CD workflows.

Why Join Us

  • Technical Impact: Direct influence on the codebase and the technical roadmap of the product.
  • Meaningful Purpose: Build technology that helps people on their journey to starting a family.
  • Modern Stack: Work with Next.js, Go, and AI in a fast-paced environment.
  • Autonomy: Fully remote culture that values results and ownership.

Essential Requirements

  • Resume must be in English.
  • Must have your own high-performance computer and a stable internet connection.
  • Must be able to pass a background check to qualify for this contractor role.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
