About Orchid and IDRE

At Orchid Software Solutions, we build software for the assisted reproduction, healthcare-payments and fintech industries. Our IDRE pod owns the platform that connects VeraTru to the Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process under the federal No Surprises Act. When a healthcare provider and an insurer disagree on what an out-of-network service should be paid, IDRE moves that dispute through the CMS process. It handles hundreds of new disputes a day and well over 100,000 in the system.

The role. We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to run delivery and own the product backlog for the IDRE pod, reporting directly to our CTO. This role combines the Project Manager and Product Owner seats. You will be the bridge between our engineers, our business and operations team, and our client. You will turn complex, ambiguous regulatory and client requirements into clear, sequenced work the team can ship. You will also own the planning horizon: sprints, multi-sprint roadmaps, and the refinement that keeps the backlog ready before each sprint starts.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving, regulated domain. Accuracy and turnaround time directly affect how our clients experience the platform.

What you'll do

  • Own delivery for the IDRE pod. Plan and run sprints, track scope, timelines and risks, and keep releases predictable.
  • Translate requirements into work. Break complex regulatory, operational and client requirements into well-scoped tickets with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Own the backlog and refinement. Keep the backlog prioritized and refined ahead of each sprint, so engineers start with zero ambiguity.
  • Plan beyond the sprint. Build and maintain a multi-sprint roadmap with the Tech Lead and business stakeholders, and make trade-offs visible.
  • Manage the client relationship. Be a primary point of contact for Capital Bridge: run status updates and demos, gather feedback, and manage expectations.
  • Triage and protect focus. Triage incoming issues and requests before they reach engineers, and escalate what is truly urgent.
  • Partner with engineering. Work with the Tech Lead on sequencing and what is realistic. The Tech Lead owns technical scope; you own the plan and the flow of work.
  • Facilitate, don't dictate. Run ceremonies that leave room for the team, and let engineers pull their own work to build ownership.
  • Document decisions. Keep decision logs, requirements and process documentation current in Jira and Confluence.

What we're looking for

Must-haves

  • Based in the United States and authorized to work in the US (required for compliance), and able to pass a background check.
  • [6+] years as a Project Manager, Technical Project Manager or Product Owner on software teams, including hands-on backlog ownership. Years to confirm.
  • Track record running Agile/Scrum delivery for a distributed engineering team across time zones (US and Latin America).
  • Strong requirements work: you turn messy business inputs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Client-facing experience: you have owned status reporting, demos and expectation management with an external client.
  • Fluent with Jira and Confluence, including cleaning up and organizing a complex backlog.
  • Clear, concise written and spoken English, and comfort pushing back with facts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Healthcare payments, insurance claims, No Surprises Act / IDR, or another regulated domain (fintech, legal, government).
  • Experience with government or CMS-facing systems and compliance requirements.
  • Technical background (engineering or CS) to discuss trade-offs credibly with senior engineers.
  • Comfort with data: SQL or reporting basics to answer your own delivery and client questions.
  • Scrum or PM certification (PSM, CSM, CSPO, PMP).
This is a full-time, US-based W-2 position. Candidates must reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship. We do not work with staffing agencies or C2C arrangements for this role. Interviews are conducted live on video with camera on.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
