About us

Orchid Software Solutions is the engineering group behind the SeedTrust / VeraTru family of companies. We build and operate software for healthcare and family-building services: escrow for surrogacy and egg donation, agency management for fertility clinics, medical records retrieval, insurance risk management, and IDRE.

IDRE is our platform for Independent Dispute Resolution under the federal No Surprises Act. When a healthcare provider and an insurer disagree on what an out-of-network service should be paid, the dispute goes through a federal arbitration process, and our platform manages those cases end to end for our clients — hundreds of new disputes a day, with core business logic in how we calculate settlements and track case state. It's a fast-growing, high-volume product, and the team is actively expanding to keep up.

The team you'd join

IDRE's engineering team is small and senior by design: an engineering manager, a handful of senior engineers, a senior QA, and a PM, working closely together rather than in isolated silos — no hand-off-and-forget here. You'd report to, and work daily alongside, engineers who care about the craft and about getting the domain right, not just shipping tickets. We're a genuinely multicultural, fully remote team spread across the US and LATAM, and we've been deliberate about building a culture where different technical opinions get heard and new ideas aren't shut down because "that's how it's always been done."

The role

This is an independent-contractor, full-stack Senior Software Engineer role, based in Latin America. You'll work across React/Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL), owning features end to end — from a product conversation through to what's running in production — rather than working in a narrow lane someone else defines for you. Hands-on experience with financial or transactional systems (payments, billing, claims, settlements) is directly relevant, since settlement calculation and case-state tracking sit at the core of what IDRE does; prior IDR/No Surprises Act knowledge is not required, that part is very learnable on the job.

Why this role, specifically

  • Real ownership from day one — this isn't a maintenance seat on a mature product; IDRE is still being actively built out, and your technical decisions will shape how it works for years.
  • A genuine domain to go deep in — healthcare dispute resolution and payments logic is a niche most engineers never get exposed to, and depth here is a real differentiator for your own career.
  • A small, senior team means your voice actually carries weight in architecture and product conversations — not diluted across a 40-person org.
  • Direct, daily collaboration with a US-based team, in English, on a product serving real clients — not a back-office ticket queue.

You must have

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience, with real production depth in React/Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and SQL.
  • Advanced/professional spoken and written English.
  • Based in a Latin American country, able to work with substantial daily overlap with US Eastern Time.
  • Ability to work and invoice as an independent contractor in your country of residence.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
